Meeting!
The next meeting will be this thursday (November the 6th, 7pm
at oaklodge). Everyone welcome.
Online survey
If you've ever ridden an mtb in Thetford Forest we want to hear
from you. please take 5 mins to fill out our online
survey. We're trying to put some real statistics behind the
the issues we present to the FC. We want, among other things,
to show them information on the number of mountainbikers that
use the forest, what you think of the trails, how far you travel
to ride here and what would encourage you to come more. Feel free
to add more information or any extra suggestions, good or bad,
at the end. It's totally confidential.
Trail Building
Good news, trail building or at least work to get 39steps officially
opened is set to start again shortly. Watch this space or the
forum for news of build days.
After a bit of a breakdown in communications between the FC and
ourselves it looks as though we can look forward to beter relations
and a bit more openness on both sides.

This one has a report from the Chairman explaining some of the
issues that have led to halt in trail building. There's an article
from the Chief trail builder about what some of these changes
will mean, at least until we can come to an agreement with the
FC about the future trail building strategy. And, there's a report
from the Fundraising secretary about the challenges of raising
money for a project like ours.
Trail Building suspended
Please note, following the monthly meeting where news broke that
the new '39 Steps' section of trail has failed the FC engineer's
inspection and there has been a change in FC policy. Trail building
activities are to cease until further notice. This is obviously
a great blow to us as we were beginning to make real headway improving
and updating the red route to IMBA
standards. Please see the forum
for more info.
